Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted August 14, 2023 between 1:20pm and 3:00pm. There were 7 children present with one (2) caregivers supervising for a total of 16 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing with manipulatives, looking at books, bathroom procedures, and preparing for rest time. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programing, evacuation drill logs, menu, first aid supplies, attendance, child and caregiver records, and emergency procedures. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the programs. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, contact the Licensing Inspector, Sheila Nelson at sheila.nelson@ doe.virginia.gov
Thank you for your cooperation.

Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances were stored in an area accessible to child. Evidence: A gallon of Skyline Satin White Hand Soap was stored in the bottom bathroom cabinet which was accessible to children.
Plan of Correction:
I will move it immediately. Violation corrected during the inspection.
Standard #:
8VAC20-800-530-A
Description:
Based on observation, mats used for sleeping by children did not consist of a top cover and a bottom cover or a one piece covering that is open on three sides. Evidence: During rest time, six (6) cots did not have a bottom cover.
Plan of Correction:
Parents didn't send back the bottom cover. I will buy bottom sheets for all the cots to use in the future.
