Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on June 18, 2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were (7) children present (22 points) and (3) caregivers. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (2) new children?s records and (2) caregiver records submitted by the family day home (FDH) to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined (1) non-compliance with an applicable standard and was documented on a violation notice issued to the FDH.
If you should have any questions, please call or send an email to charles.perkins@dss.virginia.gov. Thank you.
Charlie Perkins, Licensing Inspector (703) 309-3963
Based on review, 2 of 2 new children files indicated that not all of the required information was contained within each child's record.
Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (06/18/2020), the information was not complete for a total of two emergency contacts listed for each child: Child #1 had no contacts listed; and Child #2 had 1 of 2 contacts listed. 2. The written authorization for emergency medical care was not signed by the parent of Child #2. This area was left blank.
