Technical Assistance:
Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-12:20pm. There were 61 children (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 13 staff. The physical plant, staff records, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, playing outside, water play and infant feeding routines. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an ample supply of materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Evidence: 1. Sofa and chair in preschool class room were ripped. 2. Green ride on plastic see saw was cracked at the base 3. Gate on playground was not latching during inspection.

I will remove them during the inspection. I will have maintenance fix today and send you a picture.
