Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today with the provider on site. There were 6 children with 3 caregivers. A sample of 2 children's files and 3 caregivers/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: toy play. The site was clean, organized and contained developmentally appropriate materials. Interactions between the children and caregivers were positive. The physical space, evacuation drills, attendance records and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-800-800-B
Description: Based on interview, the provider did not review and update the plan as needed and document in writing each review and update to the emergency plan.
Evidence:
1. The last review of the emergency plan was documented on 11/20/2020.

Plan of Correction: I reviewed and sign the emergency plan.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-320-A
Description: Based on observation, small electrical appliances such as, but not limited to, curling irons, toasters, blenders, can openers, and irons were not unplugged.
Evidence:
1. In the upstairs kitchen, a toaster and coffee pot remained plugged in and were not in use.

Plan of Correction: I'll unplug small appliances before opening the daycare.
