Technical Assistance:
The Registered Provider must send evidence to the licensing inspector that the background checks have been requested no later than 10 days of this notification dated 5/1/2024. The applicant must also then forward the results to the licensing inspector upon receipt.
Upon setting appointments for Fingerprinting, please send your licensing inspector the appointment confirmation email.
Once the results of the criminal record reviews are sent to your email, please forward a copy to your inspector.
Once your renewal application is complete and payment made, a new Voluntary Registration certificate will be emailed to you.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/30/2024 from 12:10pm- 2:20pm. At the time of entrance, 2 children were in care with the provider. The sample size consisted of 4 children?s records and 2 Provider / Household Member records. Children were observed sleeping in individual mesh sided cribs, playing crawling and toddling, playing with age-appropriate toys and manipulatives and eating an afternoon snack which are brought from the children's own homes. Medication administration was not observed. The provider states that she does not administer medication or transport children in a vehicle while they are in her care.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
Based on a review of records and interview, the provider did not ensure that every registrant of family day home and any adult living in the registered home undergoes updated background checks every 5 years following the most recent background check results. Evidence: Two provider / Household member records were reviewed. The record for provider #1 and the record for household member #2 contained the most recent Criminal Record Searches which were both dated 10/16/2018. Five years have passed since the last Criminal Record Search. The provider confirmed that an updated criminal records search has not been obtained for the provider or the household member.
Plan of Correction:
The provider stated that she will make appointments this week for new fingerprints to be taken and a new Criminal Record Search (CRS) be requested. The provider will ensure that the CRS is updated every 5 years thereafter.
