Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 03/06/2024. The inspectors arrived at 2:10 PM and departed at 3:42 PM. There were 14 children present, ranging in ages from infant to preschool, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, background checks, Code of Virginia; and child abuse and neglect. A total of 3 child records, 3 staff records and 1 volunteer record were reviewed. The playground was not inspected due to flooding rains during the inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director during the exit interview.
Based upon review of staff records, the facility has not ensure that all employees have undergone a background check in accordance with subsection B prior to employment every five years thereafter. Evidence: 1. Results of a child abuse and neglect central registry check was not available for staff 3, employed on 9/11/2023. 2. The most recent criminal fingerprint record check for staff 1 is dated 11/27/2017. 3. The most recent child abuse and neglect central registry search for staff 1 is dated 2/28/2018. 4. The most recent sworn disclosure or affirmation statement for staff 1 was completed and signed on 4/25/2018.
