Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and the catering service now being used for the children in care.

Comments:
The following inspection took place between the hours of 8 am through 10:30 am. Today, I met with the Staff of Building Blocks II Day School located in Falls Church, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 26 children with 8 classroom staff; good ratios in all 4 groups. A total of 5 children?s files and 12 staff files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: art - painting with sponge numbers, large motor skilled activities in the gym, infant napping, music, story time, centers within the classroom, and other organized activities. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-H
Description: Based on interview, a certificate from the local health department was not on file for the catering service. Evidence - 1. The Director stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection - 08/27/2019) that a certificate of approval from the local health department was not on file for the catering service used for the meals served to the children in care. 2. This service has been in used by the Child Day Center for the past 5 to 6 months.

Plan of Correction: A certificate of approval shall be obtained from the catering service and kept on file at the Child Day Center.
