Children were not observed playing outdoors today due to very cold temperatures. However, we discussed the stairwell located in the back yard where children play. The vendor stated that she will ensure that a child safety gate is installed at the bottom of the stairs before children play outdoors in the back yard and that children will not be permitted to play near the stairwell.

An unannounced Subsidy Health and safety monitoring inspection was conducted on January 8, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. to review vendor requirements. There were 3 children present, ages 7 months to 3 years of age, for a total of 10 points, in care with the vendor. The records sample size consisted of 4 children's records and 1 vendor record. Children were observed singing and dancing to music during the inspection. The vendor states that no medication is administered to children in care at this time. Children are very rarely transported in a vehicle for outings and errands. Children play in the back yard under direct supervision and close proximity of the vendor. A child safety gate is utilized to make the outdoor stairs leading to the second floor inaccessible to the children. The vendor reports that there have been no accidents or injuries requiring first aid or medical treatment incurred by children in care since the last inspection. There are no children currently enrolled who have diagnosed food allergies. Thank you for your time and cooperation during today's inspection.
