Technical Assistance:
Renewal application must be submitted to the licensing office to complete renewal process. Application was resent to center management to ensure completion.

Reminder:
Center management was also asked to submit renewed health inspection that will expire by March renewal date.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governer of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 02/05/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 31 children directly supervised by 7 staff at the time of the inspection. The inspector reviewed a sample of 4 child records, staff records, information and emergency preparedness planning, supplies and drills. A virtual tour was also conducted of all classrooms.
Medications and action plans on site were also reviewed.

The information gathered during the inspection determined a violation with applicable standards or law .A violation notice was issued.

The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID 19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based upon observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: In the toddler B classroom chemical was observed on the counter next to the sink during the virtual inspection.

Plan of Correction: Director removed spray bottle from counter during the inspection and locked in cabinet.
