Technical Assistance:
Discussed medication administration and updates to records as needed.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:35am-1:30 pm. There were 42 children directly supervised by 12 staff. Child to staff ratios were found to be in compliance. The children were observed being comforted by staff, playing on the playground, eating lunch, getting ready for nap and demonstrating their hand washing routines.

The physical plant, staff records, child records, medication policies and medications, evacuation drills, a sample of injury reports,emergency supplies and policies were reviewed.

Information gathered determined a violation with applicable code or law and is noted on the Violation Report.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based upon observation, areas were not maintained in safe condition.
Evidence: In the Toddler A classroom thre was peeling paint under a display board that had been recently re- positioned. The peeling paint was low on the wall and within reach of children in care.
Cardboard box block had peeling decorative paper that was torn off and cotton stuffing was stuck in clumps on the classroom floor from a previous activity.

Plan of Correction: A request was put in to repair wall, the block was thrown away during the inspection and the cotton stuffing was picked up and thrown away during inspection.
