Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A (monitoring/renewal) inspection was initiated on 5/14/20 and concluded on 5/15/20 The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 11 children present and 4 staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on a review of documentation and interview, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that an annual inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction was completed.
Evidence: 1. The most recent annual fire inspection report inspection available for viewing during the inspection was dated 6/1/18. 2. Staff #3 (Program Director) confirmed that the annual fire inspection report had not been completed.
Plan of Correction:
The facility responded: The Fire Marshal has been contacted, and we will notify Licensing when the fire inspection has been completed.

Description:
Based on a review of the emergency drill log and interview, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that a monthly practice evacuation drill is completed.
Evidence: 1. The emergency drill log did not have written documentation to demonstrate that an emergency evacuation drill was completed during the months of March 2020 and April 2020. The last entry for a completed emergency evacuation drill was February 2020. 2. Staff #3 (Program Director) confirmed that there was no emergency evacuation drill completed during the month of March 2020 and April 2020.
Plan of Correction:
The facility responded: For March, program was not in session when the evacuation drill was scheduled. With the current conditions, we did not attempt to conduct an emergency evacuation drill. We will complete one for May and each month going foward.
