Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on September 9, 2020 and concluded on September 11, 2020. The center was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection at 1:25 p.m. A virtual inspection was conducted beginning at 2:45 p.m. There were 76 children in care with 11 staff. The inspector emailed the principal a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed four children?s records and five staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on review of documentation, it was determined that the facility did not provide documentation of an annual fire inspection for the facility. Evidence: During the remote, virtual inspection initiated on 9/9/2020 , no documentation of a fire inspection was provided as requested by 9/25/2020.
Plan of Correction:
A number of messages were left with the fire marshal's office to receive inspection records. Records will be obtained and kept on site.
