Comments:
An unannounced complaint investigation was conducted on 5/30/24 in response to a complaint received in the licensing office regarding allegations relating to staff qualifications and training. Based on review of documentation and interviews conducted, the allegation was determined to be valid, and a violation was cited. Please complete the "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" areas on the Violation Notice for each violation cited and return to me by close of business on 6/12/24. Plans of correction should include steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard, and measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again.
Based on interview, the center did not ensure that a child for whom emergency medication has been prescribed was always in the care of a staff member who met the medication administration training requirements. Evidence: Child A was prescribed an emergency medication that has been at the center since 11/15/23. As of the date of the investigation, 5/30/24, the center had only one staff trained to administer the emergency medication. Interview revealed that Child A previously attended the center in the mornings before going to public school, which was outside of the trained staff?s scheduled hours. During the investigation on 5/30/24, Child A was onsite, but the trained staff was taking their break and was not onsite in order to care for the child if an emergency arose.
Plan of Correction:
All managers and 3 staff members all received training.
