Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on July 29, 2020 and concluded on July 29, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were nine children present and three staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on review of two staff records and interview, the facility did not obtain central registry results for one staff within 30 days of employment or volunteer service.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1, hired 06/08/2020, did not have a completed central registry finding exceeding the 30 days from hire allowance. 2. Administration stated they did not have the results from the central registry request for staff #1.
Plan of Correction:
Per the Director: We requested the central registry check at the time of hire but have not received the results. A follow up call to the agency was made on 07/15/2020 where a message was left. We have not heard back but will follow up again obtain the documentation. A copy of the results will be forwarded to the department.
