Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, November 20, 2019 to determine the family day home's compliance with licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 2:15pm and concluded at approximately 3:35pm. Four children were present being supervised by the provider. Children were observed awakening from naptime, using the restroom, eating snack, and listening to a short story read by the provider. Children's books, toys, and equipment were inspected and found to be age appropriate and in operable condition. All rooms of the home used by children were inspected with no hazards found.
The family day home had the required postings displayed on the wall upon entering the home. Five children's records and the provider's records were inspected with the required information present. The following was also inspected: fire/shelter-in-place drill log, daily attendance, daily schedule, first aid kit & emergency supplies, emergency preparedness plan, parent agreement, and other pertinent information. See attached notice for the violation found on this day.
If you have any questions, please contact the licensing inspector at (804) 662-9771.
Note: Due to technical issues the inspection will be mailed to the provider for signature, an acknowledgement form was left on site regarding today's inspection.
Based on the inspection of the children's restroom the required item was not present.
Evidence: During the inspection of the children's restroom it was discovered there were no paper towels for children to use.
Plan of Correction:
Corrected on site.
