Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on January 8, 2024,. There were two children in care with the provider and one resident child. Children in care totaled six points. Children's and household records were reviewed. Emergency equipment, evacuation drills and required postings were reviewed. Children were observed in provider lead and self-directed activities. A single violation regarding lack of shelter-in-place drill completed during the previous year was found and appears on the violation notice.
Based on documentation review and interview the provider failed to ensure that shelter-in-place procedures are practiced twice per year. Evidence: 1 - There was not any documentation of shelter-in-place drills for the 2023 calendar year. 2 - The provider stated that she did not complete shelter-in-place drills during the 2023 calendar year.
