Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 2/10/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 23 children present and six staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. .
Based on review of three staff records, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that documentation of a tuberculosis (Tb) screening was submitted at the time of employment that had been completed within the last 30 calendar days.
Evidence: The record for staff #3 (date of hire 1/25/21) contained a Tb screening dated 10/18/19.
Plan of Correction:
All staff will submit Tb screenings conducted within 30 days of employment in the future.
