A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was initiated on 9/28/2022 and concluded on 9/30/2022 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 37 children present with five (5) staff supervising.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not ensure that each staff complete annually the Virginia Annual Health and Safety Update Course sponsored by the Department of Education as required.
Evidence: 1. The record of staff #2 (date of employment 5/12/2021) did not contain documentation of the annual health and safety update course. 3. The vendor acknowledged that the annual training update was not completed by staff #2.
Plan of Correction:
We will make sure staff complete proper training requirements.
