A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 02/16/2023 from 9:45am to 12:12pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 78 children ages 4 months to age 5 years old supervised by 12 staff. The physical plant, outdoor playground area, programming, attendance, menus, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, 2 medications with corresponding authorization records, emergency drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were reviewed. Children were observed participating in group play, a fire drill, puzzles, building activities, reading and outside play. Diapering and handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an adequate number of staff present with current certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT), CPR and First Aid, and Daily Health Observation (DHO) training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
