Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/20/20 and concluded on 11/20/20. The directo was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 20 children present and 5 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observtion the cneter did not ensure hazardous substances were kept in a locked place.
Evidence:
In the kitchen there was a spray bottle with a liquid substance in it, labeled, "bleach water." The kitchen was not locked.

Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provided by the owner during the exit interview:
All chemicals will be kept in a locked place. The owner will monitor for future compliance.

Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all requirements were met when food was provided.
Evidence:
There were 2 weekly menus posted in the daycare. Neither menu was dated.

Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provided by the owner during the exit interview:
The menu in the kitchen was posted. The owner will ensure the dates are psoted on the menus that parents have access to that are in the daycare center

Standard #: 22VAC40-80-120-E-2
Description: Based onobservation the center did not ensure all required documents were posted.
Evidence:
The findings of the most recent inspection was not posted in the facility.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the opwner during the exit interview: This was an oversight. The owner will ensure inspections are posted appropriately.

Description: Based on a record review the center did not ensure all staff had the required background checks.
Evidence:
Listed on the sworn statement of affirmation, Staff #1, hired 08/25/20, listed living outside of the state of Virginia in the past 5 years. The center did not have documentation of having a central registry check from that state.

Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provided by the owner: A central regsitry check for the particular state listed on the sworn statement will be sent out this week.
