Comments:
This Inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated on 03/11/2021 and concluded on 03/11/2021. The in-charge person was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 49 children present and 9 staff. The inspector emailed thein charge person a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 of staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on a review of records and administrator statement, staff records do not include documentation of all required components. Evidence: 3 of 3 staff records reviewed did not contain documentation of the required online course "Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect" training. A link was provided for the course.

As soon as we receive the link for the online class, staff will have 7 days to complete the online training course

Description:
Based on a review of documentation, there is no Custodial Parents Rights statement available for parents. Evidence: Per 63.2-1813 Code of Virginia, a Custodial Parents Rights statement must be disclosed to the parents of enrolled children. "Custodial parents have the right to be admitted to the facility any time their child is in care".
Plan of Correction:
We will have an addendum for current parents to sign acknowledging the statement. Our Parent Handbook will be updated to include the statement moving forward.

Description:
Based on a review of records, one Board Officer's record does not contain documentation of a completed Central Registry Search (CPS). Evidence: Board Officer A does not have a completed CPS search on file.
Plan of Correction:
Administration staff discovered that the document was missing during a file audit. Another request has been submitted to the Office of Background Investigations for completion. We will notify Licensing as soon as the results are received.
