Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 9/6/22 from 9:40am until 10:30am. At the time of entrance, there were no children in care. One provider record was reviewed. First aid and emergency supplies, documentation of emergency drills and the evacuation plan were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law. Violations are listed on the violation notice and were discussed with the provider during the exit interview.
Based on interview, the provider did not ensure that monthly practice evacuation drills are documented.
Evidence: 1. There is no documentation that monthly practice evacuation drills have been completed. 2. The provider confirmed that the practice evacuation drill log was not available for review during the inspection.
Plan of Correction:
The provider responded with the following: All practice evacuation drills were completed and documented; however, the drill log was mistakenly thrown away. Going forward, the provider will ensure the drill log is maintained in the family day home.
