Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/8/2020 and concluded on 10/9/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 27 children present and 7 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Please complete the columns for "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" for each violation cited on the violation notice, and then return a signed and dated copy to the licensing office by 4pm on Friday 10/16/2020. Based on record review, the center did not ensure that all staff have completed a Sworn Disclosure Statement prior to employment.
Evidence: Staff #1 (Date of Hire: 8/31/2020) has a signed Sworn Disclosure Statement on file dated 9/30/2020.

Will make sure our new hire staff packets have all needed documents upon hiring process.

Description:
Based on record review, the center did not ensure that all staff have the results of a Virginia central registry search on file within 30 days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #1 (Date of Hire: 8/31/2020) does not have central registry results on file. Documentation in the staff's file states the central registry search request was sent on 10/1/2020.
Plan of Correction:
Will make sure CPS is mailed off 1st 7 days of employment.
