Technical Assistance:
Time frames for staff TB screening reviewed. All staff must obtain the updated subsidy health and safety training by March 1, 2020.
Comments:
An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 09/10/2019 from 12:00 pm - 3:05 pm. A monitoring inspection was concurrently conducted as this facility is a licensed child day center. At the time of entrance there were 13 children in care with four staff. The children in care ranged in age from toddler - school age. Children were observed during nap and early afternoon transition from nap to program time. Diapering and hand washing was reviewed after nap. Records were reviewed for six children and four staff. One medication review conducted.
Based on record review, the vendor failed to obtain documentation of a TB screening that was completed within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment.
Evidence: 1. The TB screening for staff 1 was completed on 09/07/2018. Staff 1 has an employment date of 08/21/2019. 2. The TB screening for staff 2 was completed on 11/28/2018. Staff 1 has an employment date of 09/09/2019.
Plan of Correction:
Going forward - all staff will have a TB screening that was completed within 30 days prior to employment. Staff 1 and staff 2 will obtain a new TB screening within seven days.
