Today we discussed the importance of documenting hire dates as the actual date employees begin employment and not when an offer of employment is made.
The required timing of certain requirements such as Background checks, TB Screening, Orientation, Virginia Preservice Training etc. are all based on the date employment begins.
Employment should not begin (not even orientation of observation) until the results of the Criminal Record Search (fingerprints) are received back.

A Renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 4/19/2023. There were 20 children present with 5 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and10 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 11:30 am and concluded at 4:50 pm.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.
