Technical Assistance:
Discussion of the training offered on Child Care Virginia through the VDSS on Abuse and Neglect.
Discussion that the LI will send a copy of the Staff Orientation form to the Center Director.
Comments:
This monitoring inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 02/07/2023, between the hours of 10 am to 1:30 pm. There were 103 children present, ranging from infant to preschool-age, with 16 staff supervising, across 8 classrooms. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 8 children records, and 8 new staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined that there was (1) non-compliance with an applicable standard. This violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Based on observation, cleaning supplies were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access.
Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (02/07/2023), cleaning supplies were observed (not in use) stored in unlocked cabinets within the following rooms: Infant III's, Todds, and Two's. 2. Each observed cabinet had a safe locking method installed but was not in use.
Plan of Correction:
Staff will be reminded to keep these cabinets locked when the cleaning supplies are not in use.
