Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A code compliance inspection was initiated on March 4, 2021 and concluded on March 25, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were zero children present and one staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on record review, the Religious Exempt Center failed to ensure Background Checks are completed for each staff member within 30 days of employment.
EVIDENCE:
1. The Licensing Inspector reviewed two (2) staff records. Records for 1 out of 2 staff members did not include documentation of a search of the Central Registry, Background Check, within thirty (30) days of employment or commencement of service. The date of hire for Staff #2 was documented in the record as 6/24/2019. The documentation of a search of the Central Registry was dated 11/12/2019.
