Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on June 17, 2021 and concluded on June 17, 2021. The provider was contacted by video call to initiate the inspection. There were three children present and one staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records, one staff record and one household member?s record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on documentation review and interview, the provider did not meet the criteria on the health and safety checklist at the time of the inspection.
Evidence: 1. During the virtual inspection, the provider showed the documented emergency drills that were practiced in 2020. 2. The provider stated she has not been doing the monthly emergency drills for the 2021 year.
Plan of Correction:
I will start doing the monthly emergency drills now. I did not like leaving the house even for drills during the pandemic.
