Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 6/9/2020 and concluded on 6/12/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 5 children present and 2 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on record review and staff interview, lockdown procedures were not practiced at least annually.
Evidence: 1. There was no documentation of completed lockdown drills for 2019. 2. Staff A stated that the center did not conduct a lockdown drill in 2019.
Plan of Correction:
We will be sure to complete one lockdown drill each year.
