Technical Assistance:
Discussed proper usage of hand-washing sinks, emergency egresses

Comments:
A announced mandated Initial inspection was conducted today. There were 26 children present with 7 staff. Children were observed coloring, counting, drawing, practicing cutting paper, napping and having tummy time. Reviewed cribs, first aid kit, attendance, menu, medications and authorizations, emergency log and supplies, and physical plant. Violations of the Standards are recorded on the Violation Notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, were not being maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. Observed a vent in Classroom#1 covered with dust and dirt which is a potential health hazard to children. 2. Observed a non-working toilet in Classroom#5 which is a potential health hazard, and is used to calculate capacity for center. 3. Observed a hanging lighting panel in Room#8 which is a safety concern. 4. Observed a stained ceiling tile in Classroom #8 which indicates a possible roof leak.

Plan of Correction: All of those will be submitted to our maintenance company to be fixed in a week

Description: Based on observation, the center is administering drugs that are not maintained in the original, labeled container. Evidence: An Avi-Q and an Epi Pen Jr were not maintained or stored in the original pharmacy issued container.

Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents for the boxes
