Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 2/23/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 87 children present and 11 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C
Description: Based on a review of staff health records, it was determined that one staff person did not submit results of a follow-up tuberculosis screening at least every two years from the date of the first initial screening or testing, or more frequently as if recommended by a licensed physician or the local health department.
Evidence:
The tuberculosis screening for staff person A expired on 4/26/2020.

Plan of Correction: I will ask her to get a new screening done.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on a review of emergency preparedness documentation, it was determined the center did not implement a monthly practice evacuation drill and a minimum of two shelter-in-place practice drills per year for the most likely to occur scenarios.
Evidence:
The center did not conduct an evacuation drill during the months of October and November, 2020.

Plan of Correction: We will do a drill each month.
