Technical assistance was offered regarding the following: Emergency contact information and completion of annual update forms for children's records, cleaning materials in classrooms, parent teacher conferences.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:38 am to 11:55 am. The purpose of this visit was to assess the day to day operations of the center during the conditional period. There were 266 children present in care of 47 staff members. The children were observed engaged in circle time activities, writing, listening to stories and playing in the indoor gym. Attendance records, 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Areas of non compliance are listed in the violation notice. Based on records review, the center did not obtain out of state central registry results for an employee that has resided outside of Virginia in the last five years. Evidence: 1. Staff # 1 's first day of employment is 12/12/19. 2. Staff # 1's record indicated that she has lived outside of Virginia in the last five years. 3. The center did not obtain an out of state central registry for Staff # 1 within 45 days of employment, for the current license.
Plan of Correction:
Out of state background check was on file dated 3/2019. We were not aware we had to send out a new one because of the new license. We will send out a new one right away.
