Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on August 13, 2020 and concluded on August 13, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children present and twp staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on the review of two staff records, one record did not contain the results of an Out of State Child Abuse and Neglect Search Request. Evidence: 1. The updated Sworn Disclosure Statement indicated Staff #1 (hire date 8/12/19) lived out state within the past 5 years. 2. The record for Staff #1 contained an Out of State Child Abuse and Neglect search request which was sent on 8/27/19. There was no documentation of additional contact for the request. 3. Administration reported no additional attempt to obtain the results of the request had been made for Staff #1.
Plan of Correction:
Administration contacted the out of state agency in an additional attempt to obtain the search results on the same day and provided documentation to be viewed by the licensing inspector.
