A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on March 29, 2022 and concluded on April 5, 2022. There were 21 children present with three staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on review of four staff records, the center did not ensure one staff completed Virginia preservice training for Child Care Staff within the first 90 days of employment.
Evidence:
Staff #4, hired 10/18/2021, had documentation of Virginia preservice training dated 03/11/2022, exceeding 90 days from employment.
Plan of Correction:
Per the administration: We will ensure staff complete the VA preservice training within 90 days of hire.
