Comments:
A renewal inspection was initiated on 01/05/24 and concluded on 01/05/24. There were 39 children present with 8 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 9:20am and concluded at 11:10am.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on review of documents and discussion with administration the center failed to ensure that there was a written care plan for a child with a medically diagnosed food allergy as required.
Evidence: Child A had an emergency medication for a medically diagnosed food allergy with no allergy action plan obtained. The date of the medication authorization was 8/1/23.
Plan of Correction:
The parents have been asked numerous times for this action plan, and it has not been received yet. The plan will be obtained immediately and placed in the file and a copy given to staff within the child's classroom.
