Comments:
The Licensing Inspector initiated and completed a monitoring inspection on 08/06/2022. The inspector was on site from 10:00am until 2:45pm.
There were 95 children under the care of 20 staff. The ages of the children ranged from 2 months to 5 years old. The children were observed during free play time, meal time and nap time. Nine children?s record, two medical record and six staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program

Based on observation, the center failed to maintain documentation of child updates and confirmation of up-to-date information in the child?s record.
Evidence: There was no evidence of annual updates in any child?s file during the inspection on 09/06/2022.

A form will be added to children's files showing documentation on annual update.

Description:
Based on review of medication, the center failed to notify parent when an authorization for medication expires.
Evidence: Child #10 had medication on site. The authorization from parent for this medication was dated 03/12/2021. The expiration for parent authorization was 03/22/2021.
Child #11 had medication on site. The authorization from parent for this medication was dated 11/03/2021. The expiration for parent authorization was 11/13/2021.
Plan of Correction:
All children with long term medication will have physicians signature or medication will only be kept for the 14 days as authorized by parents.

Based on observation the center failed to keep all sunscreen inaccessible to children.
Evidence: Observed a cabinet with multiple bottles of sunscreen inside, unlocked and within the reach of children.

Lock on cabinet will be fixed.
