8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes
Comments:
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on 2/1/2023 and concluded on 2/1/2023. There were 17 children present with 5 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on a review of staff records, staff have not completed the required Virginia Preservice Training within the first 90 days of hire. Evidence: Staff #1, date of hire 11/18/2020 has not completed the 10 hour Virginia Preservice training.
Plan of Correction:
Staff will take the 10 hour Preservice training.

Description:
Based on a review of staff records and provider interview, staff have not annually taken the department's health and safety update course. Evidence: Staff #1, date of hire 11/18/2020 has not taken the annual 3 hour health and safety training. Staff #2, date of last training 10/2019, has not taken the annual 3 hour health and safety training.
Plan of Correction:
All staff will take the annual health and safety subsidy required training.
