Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 01/14/2021 and concluded on 02/09/2021. The director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were four children present and two staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children's records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined that there were violations with applicable standards or law which were cited on the Violation Notice.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on record review and discussion with staff, the center failed to ensure that the separate record for each child enrolled contained all the elements as required by the standards.
Evidence:
1. The record for Child #1 did not contain a complete address for one of two designated emergency contacts. 2. The record for Child #2 contained a parent's information in the place of an emergency contact (a designated person to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached).
Plan of Correction:
"Reach out to families and update emergency contact information. For future ensure all families complete contact information correctly."
