Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated on 6/03/2021, and concluded on 6/08/2021, approximately from 9:25 am to 11:09 am . There were 110 children supervised by 22 direct care staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection.
The physical plant, 7 staff records, 7 children?s records, children activities, children's activities, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected. During the inspection, children were observed eating snack, transition to and from enrichment classes, circle time and inactivates. The interactions between the children and caregivers were seen to be positive and constructive in nature.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance Child Care Programs.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on staff records review, 1 out 7 records, the center did not obtain at least every two years from the date of the first initial screening or testing, or more frequently as if recommended by a licensed physician or the local health department, staff members obtain and submit the results of a follow-up tuberculosis screening.
Evidence: Staff #3 tuberculosis screening expired on 5/10/2021.
Plan of Correction:
The teacher will have her TB screening done by 6/15/2021.

Description:
Based on staff records review, 3 out 7 records, the center did not obtain documentation for program leaders at least 18 years of age have fulfilled a high school program completion or the equivalent. Evidence: Staff #1 (date of employment 1/16/2018), Staff #4 (date of employment 5/22/2021), and Staff #5 (date of employment 2/12/2020) did not have documentation in record for review for completion of high school program or the equivalent for program leader qualifications.
Plan of Correction:
The teachers will provide a copy of their high school diploma.
