Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:10am. There were 58 children directly supervised by 8 staff. The physical plant, 6 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in story time, learning about letters in a group, playing outside, and transitioning between activities. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Based on record review, one staff did not have the results of an out of state criminal name check, for a state the staff had resided in within the preceding five years. Evidence: Staff 2's record did not contain a criminal record check from another state listed as a prior state of residence.
Plan of Correction:
The state will not release criminal record history to the school. That policy has been printed and placed in the staff file. The staff member currently has an FBI criminal record check, and central registry checks on file.
