Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/30/20 and concluded on 11/20/20. The director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 19 children present and five staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on review of two staff records, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that all staff had a completed search of the central registry on file within 30 days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #1 and staff #2 did not have the results of a search of the central registry on file at the facility. Both had been employed over 30 days.
Plan of Correction:
Owner/director of the facility has submitted the searches of the central registry and the results will be submitted to the Licensing Inspector once they are received.
