Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 2/9/2021 and concluded on 2/10/2021. The provider was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 0 children present and 1 caregiver. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 1 child?s record and 1 caregiver/household member record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.
Based on observation, the provider did not meet all of the criteria on the health and safety checklist at the time of the monitoring inspection. Evidence: 1. The provider did not ensure that the family day home's refrigerator is kept more than 40 degrees (F). The thermometer in the refrigerator read 65 degrees (F).
Plan of Correction:
The refrigerator thermometer has been removed from the enclosed butter compartment and placed on an open refrigerator rack. The temperature has been set to a cooler setting and the thermometer currently reads 40 degrees.
