A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 04/12/2022 from 11:05 am - 1:10 pm. At the time of entrance there were 49 school age children present with 5 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on record review and interview, the vendor failed to ensure that within the first 90 days of employment or subsidy vendor approval all staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.
Evidence: 1. Staff 1, hire date 09/21/2021, has not completed the 10-hour Virginia Preservice Training. 2. Staff 2, hire date 07/02/2021, has not completed the 10-hour Virginia Preservice Training. 3. Administrative staff confirmed that staff 1 and staff 2 had not completed this training.
