Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 07/06/2022 between the hours of approximately 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. There were 4 children present, ranging in ages from 22 months to 4 years, with the provider supervising. Children were observed during nap time on today's inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. There were no medications on site today. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The Provider completed a total of 16.5 hours of annual training.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Robles at maria.robles@doe.virginia.gov.
Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that empty plastic bags large enough for a child's head to fit inside were inaccessible to children under five years of age. Evidence: 1) In the bathroom of the care area there was a container storing empty "grocery" plastic bags. This container was located on a lower shelf of an open storage shelving unit.
Plan of Correction:
Corrected during inspection: The provider moved the plastic bags to a higher shelf.
