Comments:
This monitoring inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded 2/4/2021. The director was contacted aby telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 40 children present with 7 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children's records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Description:
Based on inspection and interview, the center failed to follow the most recent, age appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture.
Evidence: Lunch served Chicken Alfredo and kale salad does not meet the USDA child and adult care meal plans.
Plan of Correction:
Center will begin to follow USDA guidelines for children's meal plans.
