Comments:
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed on 7/26/2023. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined violations with applicable standards or law. Violations are identified on the violation notice.
*** REPEAT VIOLATION*** Based on a review of records and interview, the provider did not ensure that caregivers Regulation Description Caregivers who work directly with children shall, in addition to preservice and orientation training required in subsections A through D of this section, annually attend at least 16 hours of training, to include the department's health and safety update course. Evidence: The record for provider #1 contained the most recent health and safety update course which was dated 11/22/2021. The provider acknowledged that the course had not been completed by provider #1 in more than 1 year.
Plan of Correction:
The provider will complete the 3 hour annual Virginia Health and Safety Update Training by the end of July and each 12 months thereafter. Documentation of the annual training will be available for review in the records for review at future inspections.
