Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 02/10/2021 and concluded on 02/16/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children present as the program has been closed since 09/25/2020. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The plan of correction for the violation cited was not received and will not appear on the violation notice.
Based on record review, the vendor failed to ensure that within the first 90 days of employment or subsidy vendor approval all staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.
Evidence: 1. Staff 1, hire date 02/24/2017, has not completed the annual Virginia Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care Staff.
