This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on June 7, 2021 and concluded on June 7, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 31 children present and five staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children?s records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on review of three children's records and interview, the center did not ensure two children's records contained the required information.
Evidence: 1. The record for Child #2 contained the name and phone number of one designated person to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached. The record did not contain the address of the designated person. 2. The record for Child #3 contained the name and phone number of two designated people to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached. 3. The owner confirmed this is accurate information during the virtual inspection. 4. Each child's record is required to contain the name, address and phone number of two designated people to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached.
Plan of Correction:
I will have the parents add the address for the emergency contacts. By this Friday, I will go through all children's records to ensure the required information is in the records.
