The licensing inspector conducted an announced Subsidy Health and Safety inspection on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from approximately 10:00am to 11:30am. Two children and one staff member was present during the inspection. A total of two children?s files and two staff files were reviewed. A code compliance inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of two staff records and interview, the vendor did not obtain satisfactory results of the Virginia Child Protective Services Central Registry check.
Evidence: 1. The record for Staff #2 (date of employment 08/26/2022) did not contain satisfactory results of the Virginia Child Protective Services Central Registry check. 2. Staff #1 stated she had not received the results of the Virginia Child Protective Services Central Registry check.
Plan of Correction:
I will follow up with the agency to ensure the central registry has been processed.

Description:
Based on observation, the vendor did not ensure all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevented access by children.
Evidence: A container of sanitizing wipes was sitting on top of a shelf that was approximately three feet tall in the classroom. The children were observed playing in the classroom during the inspection.
Plan of Correction:
We will move all cleaning chemicals to a locked location.
