Comments:
An on-site follow-up monitoring inspection was conducted on October 28, 2022. The licensing inspector was onsite from approximately 1:10 pm until 3:15pm. The substitute provider assisted with the inspection until the arrival of the provider at approximately 2:50 pm. There were nine children present, ranging in ages from 14 months to four years, with two caregivers supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of three child records, three caregiver records and one household member record were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Description:
Based on observation the provider did not ensure children under two years of age and children over two years of age who are not developmentally ready to climb or descend stairs without supervision did not have access to stairs.
Evidence:
On October 28, 2022, the gate at the bottom of the staircase in the childcare room was open creating access to the stairs. Child #4, 14 months in age was in attendance.
